Poor Orphans
The poem "Poor orphans" by Ven. Dr. Giac Hanh. Translated from Vietnamese.
Poor little orphans!
Without parents or someone to take care
Coming into this world alone
No father for spiritual support
Mother’s hungry and depressed
Affecting the unborn child
Because of love, she tried
But after birth, they had to part ways
Pity the poor babies!
Abandoned on the temple’s doorsteps
Bitten by insects, soaked by the rain
Life hanging by a thread
The Nun’s heart felt
Heard the cries when she opened the door
With compassion in her heart
Immediately brought them inside
Without parents around
Growing up in foster care from now on
Pity the poor orphans!
Pledging to take care of them
So they can have loving home
Their loved ones will forever be grateful
On behalf of the children, I offer gratitude
Wish you always enjoy life in peace.
